The name of Netzer Germany comes from the Hebrew word נצר (Netzer), which means sprout. The sprout is a symbol of the children who are growing up in our youth movement.
In addition, נצר is also an acronym which stands for the Hebrew words נוער ציוני רפורמי (Noar Zioni Reformi), Reform Zionist youth.
This acronym includes three aspects that are central to our work and program: Progressive Judaism, Reform Zionism and youth empowerment.
Netzer Germany e.V. is shortened to NeGeV. e.V. stands for ‘registered association’ under German law and is officially a charitable club.
